Aces 13-under traveling team RU in Smokey Bear Classic Aces Baseball is comprised players from Adair, Marion, Taylor and Russell Counties, KY: Jacob Pooler, Robbie Spalding, Dillon Wilkerson, Cody Yates, Cody McElroy, Trevor Willis, Grant Best, Kel Stotts, Colton Back, Zack Hutchison, J.T. Holmes. Click on headline for story plus photo By Chad Bivens The Aces Baseball 13 and under traveling team won runner-up in the "Smokey Bear Classic" held in Sevierville TN on September 6 and 7, 2009. The Aces finished pool play with a 2-0 record, beating the East Tennessee Storm 3-2 and the Danville Bats 13-2. That earned the Aces the No. 1 seed for Sunday's semi-final round. The Aces continued to be impressive, defeating Scott County (KY) 7-4, earning a berth in the championship game on Sunday evening against the reigning USSSA World Series Champions the Sevier County Bears. After two scoreless innings the Bears took a 2-0 lead after three innngs. The Aces could not recover from costly base running and fielding errors however eventually losing 13-4, earning the runner-up honor. Aces Baseball is comprised players from Adair, Marion, Taylor and Russell Counties. The players are Jacob Pooler, Robbie Spalding, Dillon Wilkerson, Cody Yates, Cody McElroy, Trevor Willis, Grant Best, Kel Stotts, Colton Back, Zack Hutchison, J.T. Holmes.
