Obituary: Pallie Rae Stotts Nelson, 97, Columbia, KY

She was a member of a large, respected Adair County family and a long time resident of Columbia, KY

Pallie Rae Stotts Nelson, devoted mother and grandmother, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009. She was 97.Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at 11amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Brother Guy Shepperd officiating. Interment will be next to her husband in Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY.



Pallbearers will be Ricky Larson, Willard Morgan, Ronie Catron, Garret McElroy, Mark Trulock and Daniel Antle. Honorary pallbearer will be Keith Larson.

Pallie Rae Stotts Nelson (May 19, 1912 - September 5, 2009)

She was born to Bessie Pelston and Miller Stotts in Cumberland County, KY, on May 19, 1912 and passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at the age of 97 years, 3 months and 17 days.

She married James Willie Nelson on May 30, 1930. They were married 59 years until the losse of her husband in 1989. Pallie was a homemaker and a long-time resident of Columbia, KY.

Besides her late husband, she was preceded in death by two sons, Robert Nelson and Harold Nelson; one daughterAlice Farber; and thre grandchildren, Greg Whitson, Chet Farber, and Pam Nelson.

She was also preceded in death by five brothers, George Robert, Cleber, Jimmy, Arvest, and Alpha Stotts, and two sisters, twin Ida May Corbin and Osie Stotts.

She is also survived by one special nephew, Delbert (Libby) Corbin.

She was blessed with 14 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends.

Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
