Everybody Loves Opal opens Sept. 10, 2009 at Barn Lot ColumbiaMagazine.com special story "Everybody Loves Opal," filled with eccentric Southern characters and a quirky plot is the next comedy coming to Barn Lot Theatre, 207 S. Main ST, Edmonton, KY. Opal Kronkie (Julie Hatfield) is one unusal lady. She lives on the edge of the junk yard, keeps all her possessions in mismatched boxes, and sees the good in everyone. So when Sol (Ronn Kister), Gloria (Karen Morrison) and Brad Winter (John Botts) come to Opal's with the worst of intentions, they are met with a force they did not expect, the eternal optimism and belief in humanity of Opal! She leaves them reeling in their tracks and the audience with a permanent grin! Rounding out the cast are Jacob Davis as Officer Joe and Sarah Petranek as the doctor. Directing will be Faye Belcher, assisted by Rhonda Teague. The dinners will be catered by Dean Thompson with a different menu each weekend. September 10-12 will feature Stuffed Pork Chop w/Gravy, Sweet Potato Casserole, Roasted Vegetable Medley and Pecan Pie. September 17-19 will be Sliced Turkey/ Dressing, Gravy, Roasted Herb Potatoes, Butterscotch Baby Carrots and Peach Cobbler and the last weekend the menu will be Honey-Glazed Garlic Baked Chicken, Brocolli Casserole, Green Beans and Cheesecake w/ Strawberry Syrup. "Everybody Loves Opal" performances at Barn Lot Theater, 207 South Main, Edmonton, KY. are September 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26, and 27, 2009, with dinner at 6:00pmET and curtain at 7:00pmET. Tickets are $20.00 for regular, $18.00 for students, senior citizens 55 and up and active military, and $ 7.00 for preschool. Show only tickets are $10.00, $8.00 and $ 5.00.
