KSP Post 15 August Activity includes three traffic fatalities

Deaths occur on Post 15 roads in Metcalfe, Marion, and Washington Counties; toll for year is 29, vs. 30 for 2008 same period

COLUMBIA, KY - During the month of August, 2009, there were 25 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were three fatalities:


  • Matthew J. Zygmunt, Lebanon, KY, was killed in Washington Co. on August 3, 2009
  • Kendon Horton, Glasgow, KY, was killed in Metcalfe Co. on August 8, 2009
  • Lennie C. Vincent.; Hodgenville, KY, was killed in Marion County on August 10, 2009
This brings our yearly fatality count to 29 compared with 30 through this same period in 2008.

State wide fatality count stands at 508 compared with 529 through this same period in 2008.

During the month of August, 2009, there were 1197 citations written, 246 courtesy notices written, 2445 vehicles inspected, 863 complaints answered, 102 motorists assisted, 77 criminal cases opened and 273 criminal arrests made.
