Citizens Police Academy starts October 1, 2009 Classes will be taught in Campbellsville at State Fire Rescue Training Center By TFC Billy Gregory, Public Affairs Officer Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY (Frankfort, KY.) - Kentucky State Police, Post 15, is now accepting applications for the 2009 Kentucky State Police Citizens Police Academy. The 10-week academy is slated to begin on October 1st, 2009 and conclude December 10, 2009. Students will meet Thursdays from 7:00pm to 9:30pmET where they will learn about the many facets of the Kentucky State Police including patrol, criminal investigations, and drug investigations. Students will also get to take part in simulated traffic stops and evidence collection. The Academy will be held at the State Fire Rescue Training Center located at 385 Old Greensburg Road in Campbellsville. Applications can be obtained by contacting the Kentucky State Police, Post 15 at (270) 384-4796 or by visiting http://www.kentuckystatepolice.org/posts/post15.htm. Anyone 18 years of age living within the Kentucky State Police, Post 15 counties is welcome to apply. There is no cost to attend. Once completed, applications can be mailed to: Kentucky State Police Post 15, P.O. Box 160, Columbia, KY 42728.
