Reader suggests organizing Ski shipments to Iraq

Mr. Waggener,

I noticed the article about Ski being sought after in Iraq. I have sent a few care packages with this in them for my nephews in the past.

I wonder how many of our young heros have no one to send Ski to them?

I thought this might be a good church or community service project, but I do not know who to send the Ski, too.

Do you think you could help by trying to get people to post who they know, that is currently serving in Iraq?

Do you think that this would even get off the ground? It costs $7.50 to send a bulk mail package to Irag. It will hold a 12 pack of ski cans if I remember correctly.

So for $10 - $12 we can send Ski to our young military.

This idea just came to me. Gonna bring it up at church.

Do you think this might become a project you are interested in?

We would need your help to get names and addresses of the military personnel.

s/Annette Slaven

Sounds like great idea. We'll do our part. Maybe one group could, take donations, organize the shipments, and keep those in Iraq and Afghanistan supplied with Ski, and keep donors posted on the recipients. After all, it's only 117 days until Christmas. -EW
