According to Judy Sapp, the Casey Center Director, the purpose of the Open House will be to help students get everything set up prior to their first class. Sapp said the staff of the Casey Center will help students to set up their College e-mail addresses and help them learn how to access Peoplesoft, where they can check their grades and other important information. Open house opportunity to learn SCC Library Electronic databases The Open House will also help students learn to access the SCC Library Electronic Data Bases. The data base contains many online publications to assist students with their assignments and help reduce the need to travel to the SCC Library in Somerset. For those Casey Center students taking online classes, this will be an opportunity to learn how to use Blackboard, which will be an important part of their online class. The staff at the Casey Center will also provide students with information on the center's yearly activities, including the Relay for Life, and the Casey Center's Community Outreach Reading Program. "This is an opportunity for our students to give themselves a head start as school begins. I urge them to take advantage of this Open House," Sapp added. Refreshments will be served.
