Obituary: Venetta Barnett, 96 Taylor County, KY

Ms. Barnett was the oldest member of Robinson Creek Baptist Church

Venetta Barnett of Campbellsville, daughter of the late Ben Harrison Perkins and Virginia Pike Perkins, was born February 12, 1913, in Taylor Co., KY. She died at 7:15pmET, Wednesday, August 5, 2009 in Campbellsville, KY. Age: 96

The funeral service will be at 1:00pmET, Saturday, August 8, 2009, at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home, 418 Lebanon AV, Campbellsville by Rev. Jim Collison. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery, Campbellsville, KY. Visitation is after 5:00pmET, Friday, August 7, 2009 at the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home.


She professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Robinson Creek Baptist Church where she was the oldest member.

She united in marriage to Ernest Barnett May 3, 1930. He preceded her in death March 9, 1991.

She is survived by the following:
  • Four sisters: Loretta Sharp, Virginia Askren, Margaret Barnett and Ida Belle Corbin, all of Campbellsville, KY

  • Several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by one son, Murrell Barnett March 1, 1950 and one brother and two sisters, Edwin Perkins, Mattie Perkins and Irene Bault.

Pallbearers are Kenny Barnett, Jerry Barnett, Donnie Bault, Keith Bault, Larry Bault, Tommy Corbin, Gary Sharp, and John Sharp .
