LCADD gets grant of $44,287 for four seniors vans

Lake Cumberland Development Council, Inc. has been awarded a $44,287 grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development office.

The funds awarded will be used to help purchase four 2009 Ford Econoline Cargo Vans for use by the Lake Cumberland Area Development District to deliver meals to senior citizens in Russell and surrounding counties.




U.S. Representative Ed Whitfield (KY-01) announced this grant on Friday, August 7, 2009. The award comes as part of the Community Facility Grant program. The program provides grants to assist in the development of essential community facilities in rural areas and towns of up to 20,000 in population. Grants are available to public entities such as municipalities, counties, and special-purpose districts, as well as non-profit corporations and tribal governments.
