KSP Post 15 releases data on Blue Lights enforcement campaign

Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY

The Kentucky State Police and the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet partnered in a recent enforcement campaign called Blue Lights Across the Bluegrass Enforcement Mobilization. The campaign lasted between July 20, 2009 and July 31, 2009. During this time, Troopers ramped up enforcement in the Post 15 area, focusing their efforts in rural areas.



Throughout the campaign Kentucky State Police Post 15 - Columbia initiated 13 safety roadchecks and issued a total of 531 citations. The following is a break down the citations:
  • DUI - 12
  • Speed - 113
  • Seatbelt - 44
  • Child Restraint - 5
  • Arrests - 93
  • Courtesy Notice - 135
  • Motorist Assists - 36
  • Vehicles inspected - 1543
Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY, investigated 11 collisions during the enforcement period, one of which was a fatality.
