Obituary: Elfriede Wenz McMahan, 73, Green Co., KY

Mrs. McMahan was a member of a respected Summer Shade, Green Co. community family and a member of Summer Shade United Methodist Church. She was employed at Union Underwear

Elfriede Wenz McMahan was born February 21, 1936, in Germany to the late Albert and Hetridge Moore Wenz. She departed this life Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at her home in Green Co., KY, having attained the age of seventy-three years, five months and eight days.

The funeral will be at 10amCT, Friday, July 31, 2009, at Foster-Toler-Curry Funeral Home, 209 W. Court ST, Greensburg, KY, with Rev. Travis Keltner and Rev. Weldon Greer the officiating clergy. Visitation will be after 5:00pmCT, Thursday, July 30, 2009, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Coffey Cemetery in Green Co., KY.



Mrs. McMahan had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of Summer Shade United Methodist Church. She was employed at Union Underwear. Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by two brothers, Gunter Wenz and Horst Wenz of Germany.She is survived by her husband Volen McMahan, and the following:
  • One brother and two sisters: Karl Robert Wentz, Gerda Lyendecker, and Gerlinde Falz all of Germany

  • Five sisters-in-law: Demetrice Phillips and Fidelia Foster both of Louisville, KY;, Barbara Walker of Portage, IN: Shirley Neagle of Campbellsville, KY; and Etna Wenz of Germany

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
