The Concord School of the 1940s By E.H. Lepiarczyk II I would like to obtain copies of photographs of pupils who attended the Concord School which was located in the Concord community, near Garlin. The community where the Concord School was located is now known as New Concord. My mother, Katherine Louise Grider Lepiarczyk, attended the Concord School during the 1940s. If anyone has Concord School photographs from this time period, I surely would treasure obtaining copies of them. It would be nice if Concord School photographs could be presented on Columbia Magazine.com. Mother graduated from the 8th grade at Concord School in 1948 with Jeanette Adamson, Eulene Lawhorn, and Janet Murrell. I believe all four of these Concrod School scholars are living. Their 8th grade teacher was my mother's cousin, the late Stella Ray Richards, "Miss Stella." Mother's other teachers at Concord School included: the late Alice Pearl Hubbard Grider, "Miss Pearl," the late Nettie Calhoun, "Miss Nettie," and the late Ruby Ellen Reynolds Richards, "Miss Ruby." Mrs. Joseph Woodruff Grider, "Miss Pearl"; and Mrs. George Avalee Richards, Miss Ruby, were the wives of my mother's cousins. Mother and her classmates were all good friends when they attended school together. This story was posted on 2009-07-21 04:36:00
