Remembers reluctance to put light at old Walmart About: Seventh Crash at The Crossing since CWB opened To ColumbiaMagazine.com: It is a shame that the state does not see that there is a need for a stop light here. The new LED lights obviously are not working here. When Wal-mart opened on Jamestown ST and Houchens was across the street, at first they did not put anything at the intersection. Then stop signs were put up coming out of Wal-mart & Hurt ST.There were still numerous accidents. About two weeks after my mom and I had a wreck at this intersection, they decided to put up a traffic light. Now this new intersection is having the same problems and someone is again delaying the inevitable. I have heard that big wheels turn slow, but how many people have to be hurt before the powers that be do something or a solution is found? s/Chad Ashbrook This story was posted on 2009-07-08 14:16:41
