Writer thinks creation of jobs should be highest priority

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

The square, center of Columbia is a very important Historic land site. My concern is for Adair County to have more jobs.

Our local businesses can only support a very few of the population in the city and county.

Whatever happened to the reality of no jobs, no future except tourism and trees.

Are they more important than our future as a small town? The city is a very small community in a good size county. We are fortunate to have some City Council members who are very aware of the city and county problems. In my opinion, it will not survive unless that we take responsibilty to move forward.

All nice things are wonderful, but what about All the people who have lost their jobs due to the economic times? We have no jobs! I don't have the answers, but maybe our leaders need to step back and reconsider some priorties. I think Ann does a very good job in regards to her position.

How many women would accept this position, except for a person that has a great concern for our community?

So Adair County think about this.

Where are we going from here?

s/Pam
