Sage stirred up by: Address Markers Floral holder at Breeding KY

Someone needs to tell Gail Harvey that it is un-American not to have a mailbox! I do not care if her husband is a mail carrier, and he gets their mail right off the truck.

It is just not right - not to have a mailbox.

Where else do neighbors have to leave those little drop off items that they want to get back to you? Though admittedly that, I believe, is technically illegal according to the post office.

Many are the mail carriers who find mailboxes stuffed with "I am returning this to you" items, or find Wal-Mart bags hung on them full of surplus garden veggies.Ms. Harvey must have also missed out on the programming the rest of us got from the cereal companies that spent fortunes on brainwashing our fertile young minds to save up, and send " 3 box tops, your name and address on a 3"X5" card " in order to get the newest high tech gadgets and decoders "in 4 to 6 weeks".I personally, still have a few of my Batman stamps and ink pad floating around my parents attic.

Now we amble out to the mailbox, still with baited breathe hoping for our secret decoder ring instead of the mass market flyers that we get but never read.

But a mailbox is a must in a rural area, the way we decorate or don't decorate it tells much about the residence. If you have no mailbox- it could very well be misinterpreted that you live in a high crime area!

I will say Gayle did an outstanding job using imagination, and talent to post her address marker.

And now since we know Gayle does have a working digital camera. It would be nice to see some of the outstanding foal crop that Gayle and Micah raise every year...As always, Cindy Meyer

Gayle Harvey writes: "Since my husband is the mail carrier in Breeding, we didn't have a mail box or a post outside to put our address marker. We had never really needed one, until I purchased the address marker. I just thought that I would share my idea with other folks."
