Commentary: Adair Co. has already acted on messes

Illegal dumps can be reported to PRIDE program, using official county website, AdairConnection.com and it will be cleaned up.
Comment on: Wants Adair County to act on messes

By Shamarie Claiborne

Mr. Gilpin, as I do respect your view I would like to say a little something in response.

Kevin and I lived in town were there are ordinances to ensure what you are discussing doesn't happen anymore along with 5,000 others that resrtictall kinds of things.

We did not like the government or other individuals telling us what we could or couldn't do with property we worked hard to pay for. So, we moved to the county - bought our farm - so we can do what we want with it. If we want a garden we can have one, if we want a cow and horse we can have them, if we don't like to throw old things away we don't have to.

Now if you are referring to illegal dumps 90 percent of them have been cleaned up and if you see one, let Mr. Sinclair who runs the PRIDE Program in Adair Co. know and he will get it cleaned up. His contact information is on the Adair Fiscal Court Website (http://www.adairconnection.com).Mr. Sinclair cleaned the illegal dumps in our holler up years ago and when people dump their trash etc... down our road, all we have to do is call.

The things setting around now in our holler belong to us. We own our land and will do with it what we want. As do the the other land owners down here.

They do lots of things I don't like or would perfer didn't happen down here but I don't have the money to buy them out so I live with it because I want the same freedom they have to do what they want with their land.
