Is Harvey-Loy oldest continuous annual Reunion in Adair Co.?

REUNIONS

By Tony Harvey

Thank you letting all Adair Countians post Reunions for free, especially online. The cost over the years, I'm sure, adds up.

I'm looking forward to next years, being as it will be the 60th of course.

To answer your question on the Harvey-Loy Reunion being the longest running in the county, I haven't a clue. But I wish we could find out for sure.

Maybe that would be a good question to have readers participate in answering that for you.

I would chance a guess and say that if ours isn't longest running. It would place in the top 5 county wide. I know your family has the Christmas in July. How long has that been taking place?Regards,

s/Tony Harvey

I am ashamed to say I'm not sure, but I think the Christmas in July Reunion started in 1984, which would make this the 25th CIJ. We do hope to hear about other long running get-togethers, as well as more on the new traditions. I do know that our Reunions section in the CM Classifieds has grown rapidly. So do has the VENUES for MEETINGS SECTION , which is a free listing resource which we hope will make homecoming planning much easier. We invite everyone planning a reunion to post the announcement, use CM for bringing friend together, and sending an account for the record to us, with photos, after the event is held. -ED WAGGENER
