Wants Adair Co. government to act on messes To ColumbiaMagazine.com: It's one thing for somebody to store an old vehicle which will be reclaimed and refurbished, but it's another thing when people dump old cars, trucks, tractors, appliances, tires, furniture and whatever down in those same hollers. Drive around and you'll see lots of these mini-junk yards and they're not only in the hollers, but are in the fields along the highways and in some cases right in front yards. The sad thing is that the county does such a great job with their Spring Pride clean-up, but there is nothing that can be done about these other eyesores. Don't you think it's time Adair County Government passed an ordinance allowing officials to clean up these messes as well? Beautiful countryside is what Adair County has, but that's being taken away and replaced with auto and junk graveyards. s/Ken Gilpin This story was posted on 2009-06-19 00:37:32
