Obituary: Grace McGaha Grider, 80, Columbia, KY

She was a member of a respected Adair County family and of the Columbia church of Christ. Mrs. Grider was a homemaker

Grace McGaha Grider age 80 years a resident of Summit Manor Health & Rehab, Columbia, KY, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at 7:47pmCT, at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

A graveside service will be Friday, June 19, 2009 at 2:00pmCT, at Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty Road, Columbia, KY, with Charles Rickman the officiating clergy. Interment will follow in Haven Hill Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, is in charge of funeral arrangements.



She was born January 14, 1929, the daughter of the late Burley and Mary Linda Simpson Foster and was the widow o Collia McGaha, who preceded her in death on Feb. 14, 1983 and was later married to Osmon Taylor Grider who preceded her in death on March 1, 1996.

She is survived by the following:
  • Two brothers: Delmar Foster and Burlie Hadley of Campbellsville,KY

  • One sister: Mae Shepherd of Russell Springs, KY

  • A special niece and nephew: Mary Campbell of North Vernon, IN; and Riffies Foster of Scipio, IN

  • And several other relatives and friends
She was preceded in death by three brothers, Arvil Foster, Alvin Foster and Roy Foster.

She was a member of Columbia church of Christ and a homemaker.
