Spring water from Happy Hollow made best kraut

Granddaughter has happy memories of Happy Hollow

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

You asked about a Spring being in Happy Hollow.

There was a spring in Happy Hollow. It was on the left side of the road up the hill across from my Grandparent's house and a little past it. I have memories of walking up to the spring to get water for making sour kraut.

Granny always said that we had to use fresh spring water to make the best kraut. She was right because I have never ate any since she last made it that taste like hers!

I'm not sure that it still has water running now. I have not been up to it for years!

Thanks again for bringing back great memories of my childhood with my Granny!
