Mrs. Frances, along with Brooks Coomer, were her best teachers

Because of them, the little girl who struggled with arithmetic at Mt. Pleasant and Columbia Grade Center made all A's in college math
About: Remembering Mrs Stults: One of best teachers writer ever had

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

"Mrs. Frances, as we called her, was my second and third grade teacher at Mt. Pleasant School. I couldn't learn math and she was so concerned about me, and very helpful.

Later at the Columbia Grade Center, after Mt. Pleasant was gone, she would catch me in the hall and ask me how I was doing in math. She was the best teacher i ever had, along with Brooks Coomer. These teachers are the reason for the A"s in college math.

I shall never forget them...
