Thanks for flying the flags

About: Happy Flag Day photo by Linda Waggener

To ColumbiaMagazine.com

I was so thrilled to see the flags flying in our City. It reminded me of the days when Bill Walker, also known as "Daddy Bill" by the younger folks, who for years always had the flags out not only on Flag day, but all the Holidays. Many times it would not be a holiday, but Bill would have the flags flying. After Bill's death, Dennis Loy stepped up and for several years kept the flags flying. I hope they will continue to fly each holiday, during our festivals, and other events. A special thank you to those responsible for getting the flags up!
