Obituary: Dwight Wayne Gaskin, 63, Columbia, KY

Mr. Gaskin was a member of a respected family with deep roots in Russell and Adair Counties. He had retired after a 35 year career as a truck driver

Dwight Wayne Gaskin, 63, Columbia, KY, died Friday, June 12, 2009, at 6:30pmCT, at his home after an illness.

The funeral service will be Monday, June 15, 2009, at 2:00pmCT, at Bernard Funeral Home, 367 Main ST, Russell Springs, KY with Bro. Donnie Emerson officiating. Burial will be in Gaskin Cemetery, Russell Springs, KY. Visitation will be after 4:00pmCT, Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, and after 12:30pmCT at Bernard Funeral Home in Russell Springs, KY.

A native of Russell Co., KY, he was the son of the late Alvin and Iola Swanson Gaskin and was a retired truck driver after a career of 35 years.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jim Gaskin.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Wilson Gaskin, Columbia, KY, and the following:
  • Three daughters and sons in law: Pam and Gary Copley, Dunnville, KY; Tammy and Steve Wheeler, Columbia, KY; and Tara and Mark Graham, Greensburg, KY

  • Three grandchildren: Michelle Copley, Kobe and Kali Graham
