Obituary: Ramona Rogers, 74, Columbia, KY

Mrs. Rogers was the head of a prominent Adair County, KY family. She was a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church and a homemaker

Ramona Rogers, age 74 years, of 101 Bluegrass Drive, Columbia, KY passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009 at her home after several months illness.

The Funeral service will be Monday, June 15, 2009 at 12:00pmNoonCT at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Stanley Watson the officiating clergy. Interment in the Haven Hill Cemetery, 1276 Liberty RD, Columbia, KY. The family requests visiting after 12:00pmNoonCT on Sunday, June 14, 2009, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home.



She was born July 8, 1935, the daughter of the late Everett and Edna Ellis Humes Hale of Adair County, KY

She was preceded in death by her husband J. U. Rogers on August 31, 2002

Preceded in death by two sisters: Bernice Veldman & Beatrice Jessee.

Mrs. Rogers is survived by the following:
  • Three children: Ernie Rogers and wife Myranda of Columbia, KY; Donna Hancock and husband Troy of Columbia, KY; Michelle Lewis and special friend Chris Harl of Columbia, KY

  • Two brothers: Don C. Hale and wife Geraldine of Columbia, KY: Ronald T. Hale and wife Karen of Columbia, KY

  • Six grandchildren: Amber Harrison, "Boomer" Lewis, Harley Lewis, James Riley Rogers, Peyton Antle and Grace Ann Antle

  • One great grandchild: Skye Bayge Brockman
Mrs. Rogers was a member of the Columbia United Methodist Church and a homemaker.
