Thanks to the Hills for continuing great Glensfork tradition About: Hardscratcheers live in tiny town but aren't lacking To ColumbiaMagazine.com: I enjoyed the comments on the Hardscratch community. Having lived there as a young boy, many of my fondest memories are of the store which was built by my uncles Sam and Paul Aaron. My grandfather also was a merchant and owned a grist mill which operated in downtown Glensfork prior to the building of the store that is there now. My dad, the late Buel Conover, often referred to Glensfork or the Hardscratch community as "Punkin Center." When asked why, his reply was the center is the best part of the pumpkin. I am so pleased that the Hills are continuing the great tradition with the Hardscratch store. Keep up the good work. s/Brad Conover This story was posted on 2009-06-11 16:39:13
