Amy Mitchum picture of international truck brings memories

About: Restored James Wilkinson Crystal Ice truck

Hi, Ed,

I knew Mr. Wilkinson's truck the second I saw it on your site this morning, even before reading the caption. As small children, my brother and I spent many summer days over at Mr Wilkinson's Ice House, helping him unload those huge blocks of ice off of that truck. At least we thought we were helping.

He would reward us with a glass bottle of Coke. We would hang around the fire station with my grandfather, Bobby Caldwell, and then head over to the Ice House when we saw Mr. Wilkinson dive up with a load of ice.

I want to thank Garrison Construction Company for restoring that classic truck.

Thanks for this picture.

Thanks. Hope you can come back for the 13th Annual Russell Creek Gas Engine and Tractor Show, Saturday, June 20, 2009, to see the truck yourself. -EW
