Report of fire at Fruit of the Loom, possible explosion, Campbellsville, KY

There is huge black smoke over Campbellsville this morning. Fruit of the Loom is on fire, back side of the building, someone says there was an explosion.

On way to Louisville so no time for photos, but you could get info from the Campbellsville Fire Department.

Firefighters on the Scene



2009-06-09 - Cambpellsville, KY - Photo by Pen. Things are smoky in Campbellsville this morning, as firefighters continue to battle the fire at the old Fruit of the Loom plant. The fire is reported to have started at around 4:00amCT/5:00amET, when the sound of an explosion was heard in town. The facility, at one time the site of South Central Kentucky's major employment, was being used only for storage.
