Arrest made in Sunday stabbing incident in Knifley community

Alleged perpetrator flees scene, but is located just across the Taylor County line by Taylor County K-9 Officers Ricky Underwood and Till. Case is being investigated by AC Deputy Sheriffs Mike Burton and Justin Claywell

Jose Gonzales, 46, was arrested by the Adair County Sheriff's department Sunday evening, June 7, 2009, following a stabbing incident in the Knifley community of Adair County. Gonzales had fled the scene on foot to hide in the woods, according to the Adair Sheriff's Department spokesman, but was located near the Adair-Taylor line in Elkhorn by Taylor county K-9 officer Ricky Underwood.



>The Adair County Sheriff's Department received a call about a stabbing on Elkhorn RD in the Knifley community. Deputy Mike Burton responded to the call along with the Kentucky state police.

Oscar Alfaro, 39, was stabbed in the arm and in the stomach area and was taken to Westlake Regional Hospital and was later transferred to U of L Hospital in Louisville, KY.

Gonzales was lodged in the Adair County Regional Jail and was charged with first degree assault and wanton endangerment 1st and alcohol intoxication in public place. This case is being investigated by deputy Mike Burton and Deputy Justin Claywell of the Adair County Sheriff's Department.
