Fulmer Co., Memphis, TN, donates 40 helmets Value of firm's gift is over $3,200.00. Click on headline for full story plus photo By Rick Wilson, Adair County Coroner Marketing Director, Aimee Leeper representing The Fulmer Company of Memphis, TN has sent another 40 ATV helmets to the Helmets for Kids Program. This is a great contribution in helping us to continue the program. Last year the Fulmer Company gave us 75 free helmets. This year's contribution is valued at over $3,200. I see many kids riding ATV's. I still see kids not using helmets, riding double and on paved roads. Since the program started in 2007, we have awarded 384 helmets to Adair County kids. I hope we have made an impact in safety awareness of the dangers of ATV's when a person does not wear a helmet. If a child in Adair County under 18 wants an ATV helmet, just give me a call at 378-1490 for an application. The child will have to sign an agreement and pledge to always wear the helmet when riding an ATV plus we count on the parents to enforce the rule. I appreciate the good people at Rex's Cycle shop for selling helmets to us at their cost and in helping to properly fit the kids for helmets. I also thank the many people that have sent us money to support the program so far. Thank you, This story was posted on 2009-06-05 21:28:15
