Veterans are still writer's heroes About: VFW stands up against military suicides To ColumbiaMagazine.com: If those shrinks had been issued an M16 and put up front their diagnoses would have been different, but I feel they had their orders to ignore the syndrome and were made powerless by their superior officers. I was one of the lucky ones who was sent to Turkey in 1969 and was wounded only by a rock and faced college student demonstrations against the US presence in Viet Nam. Fortunately, the Turkish military kept the demonstrations relatively calm by forceful policemanship. You guys were and are still my heroes. s/Charles Marshburn This story was posted on 2009-06-02 08:56:44
