Lady Indians sidelined in 5th Region tournament

But team can take tremendous pride in being 1st from program to compete in Regional Tournament in 10 years. Green Co. also beaten. 20th District champions Taylor County makes semi-finals

The Adair County Lady Indians Softball Team lost 2-0 to North Hardin in the opening round of the 5th Region Tournament this afternoon, Monday, May 25, 2009, to tournament host North Hardin High School, Radcliff, KY.



This brings their season to a close, but they should be proud to have made the Region for the first time in 10 years and should look forward to return trips in the future.

The ladies are coached by Steve Martin and Mendel Sexton. The squad includes Samantha Hadley, Whitney Rodgers, Elizabeth Smith, Carli Burton, Jessica Wethington, Dariann Smith, Haley Burton, Courtney Gupton, Lauren Ollery, Shauna Davis, Jessica Young, Mackenzie Martin, Brooke Harmon, Chanley Otterson, Breanna Bertam, Meridith Corbin, and D.J. Ballou.

Green Co. loses; Taylor County wins big

Earlier in the afternoon, neighbor Green County was was ousted from the tournament, losing to Central Hardin by one run, 3-2.

But 20th District Champions Taylor County trounced Washington County, 12-0 in the opening game, and will meet Central Hardin tomorrow at 5:00pmCT in upper bracket play. At 7:00pmCT, North Hardin will play Nelson County, winner over the Larue County Hawks.
