Obituary: George Allen B. Richard, Russell Springs, KY

Mr. Richard was a native of Adair County. He was a member of the Faith Temple in Russell Springs, KY, and was a retired heavy equipment operator

George Allen B. Richard, age 87 years, Russell Springs, KY, formerly of the Gradyville Community in Adair County, KY, passed away Friday, May 22, 2009 at 10:20pmCT, at Cumberland County Hospital in Burkesville, KY.

The funeral service Monday, May 25, 2009 at 10:00amCT, at Stotts-Phelps-McQueary Funeral Home, 210 Greensburg ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Eugene Sneed and Bro. Wayne Keith officiating. Interment in Columbia Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2:00pmCT, Sunday, May 24, 2009.



He was born November 18, 1921 the son of the late Basil and Addie Parson Richard.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Callie Pearl Richard, on December 12, 1993, and one son, Billy Glenn Richard on July 28, 1988.

Survived by the following:
  • One son: Joe Richard, Russell Springs, KY

  • One daughter: Donna J. Richard of Burkesville, KY

  • Grandchildren: David Richard, Patricia Hughes, Joe Hughes, Allen Ray Richard, Timmy Richard and Amanda Jo Richard

  • Six great grandchildren: Mylia Anderson, Melena Hughes, Andrea Farlee, Hunter Richard, Autumn Hughes, Callie Jo Richard

  • And a host of other relatives and friends
He was a member of Faith Temple in Russell Springs and was a retired dozer operator.
