Reader had 'time of my life' watching robin family Shirley Smith Mings A Robin's nest is outside our bedroom window in the Acton-Mannsville Community in Taylor County. I had the time of my life watching the Robin for over 30 days. I took photos nearly every day. From the very first day the first egg hatched until all four birds flew from the nest, I was watching several times a day and taking photos. I was amazed at how both the male and female came and fed the tiny birds. the male would also watch over the tiny birds until the Robin came back. At times both the mother Robin and the male were present at the same time. Watching each one fly from the nest was almost like having a member of the family leave. It has been very interesting, and I read that the Robin may hatch as many as 3 sets of birds this spring and summer. I am just going to leave the nest alone and see what happens. I grew up in Adair County, graduated from ACHS in 1970. I enjoy seeing the photos and reading the articles online. This story was posted on 2009-05-12 02:48:16
