Coach says magazine's stance may deter readership of CM

1) On one element below, my assertion that the Frosty Flakes voting process was "too slow," Ryan McQueary is right. We don't think people need to be on computers as a life, but to make real life in Adair County better and easier. And the best time we made on voting was four minutes. Another, more techno-savvy friend says it only took her 30 seconds, but we think even at that, it's bad odds and a bad misuse of time. On the the Ryan's third question, "How could you say that all of Adair County would not be in support of one of the oldest athletic fields in Adair County, he's simply and utterly wrong e never said that. Ever. We do support a new playing field. We hope the school board, community contributions, or improved attendance and concession purchases will provide the necessary funds for this badly needed project. -ED WAGGENER

Dear Ed,

A few months back when I asked you to place our "Frosted Flakes" campaign on your website you replied that you tried it but the site was too slow and you were afraid it would deter your readers.

Now you say, not all of Adair Co. is supportive Frosted Flakes promotes poor nutrition, and you feel that our chances are very slim of being selected so it''s kind of like, why bother.

First off, what do you have against Frosted Flakes? They just happen to be the organization sponsoring the event.

Second, how are frosted flakes promoting poor nutrition in comparision to many of the other food items that I have seen on your website?

And third, how could you say that all of Adair Co. would not be in support of one of the oldest athletic fields in Adair Co. getting a make over?

With thousands of individuals and hundreds of children being directly or indirectly related to our entire baseball program, why would our community be opposed?

As a former Adair County. baseball little leaguer, a Babe Ruth League player, an Adair County High School player, and a Lindsey Wilson College player, I can say that this campaign could have a huge effect on Adair County's baseball program.

All that myself and the baseball program and family were asking was for you to simply help us promote this campaign, you declined and that was your decision. But some of your reasoning makes no sense to me.

You have many things on your website that I may or may not agree with or support but I still read daily. Going back several months ago for your reasoning in not placing the campaign on Columbia Magazine, (it will deter my readers). I can honestly say that your comments and reasoing on this campaign as a whole is going to deter this reader from Columbia Magazine.

Sincerely,
Coach Ryan McQueary, Adair Co. Baseball
