Mike Talley thinks CM wrong not to help campaign

But we think Coach Talley needs to re-do the math.We think this is a bad investment of time, even if Adair County "wins." And we think it sends the wrong message on nutrition.

About: "'No' to letter wanting CM support for Frosted Flakes campaign"

To ColumbiaMagazine.com:

Are you serious?

How can you sit there and say "NO" to something as simple as this. As far as I know, all they are asking for is support from the community and from you.

It is a very simple task of voting daily and yet you can not support it.

What message are you sending to the 30 current players, the 25 middle school players, and the 400 plus baseball and softball players in the community, plus their families, when you say that you will not support them in this endeavor?

You say that it is not the project, but Frosted Flakes itself. Can you explain that? This might take some of the heat off if we could know where you are coming from on this.

s/Mike Talley

We support Adair County baseball, but not this effort. You know that. You are a successful coach: Do the math. This thing simply doesn't work. It promotes bad nutrition. Or is baseball's image so great in this field that it just doesn't matter? If good health doesn't matter to you, then we've been wrong in supporting every baseball program - for Little League, for the AC County School Districts, and Lindsey Wilson College - we've been asked to support.

We're basing our decision on two factors:
  1. We think it is a bad return on invested time, even if Adair County should win, and that doesn't appear highly likely at this time.
  2. We think the campaign sends a a terrible message on nutrition.
  3. ColumbiaMagazine.com is very supportive of Adair County baseball, and would encourage support, otherwise to the program, but on this one, we don't want to be involved. -ED WAGGENER
