Letter: Father's Day will be a difficult one this year

Comments after reading "Mothers Day and Pity Parties"

Dear Ed

It is sad to say but sometimes when our children tend to do "what we think is neglect us."

We need to ask ourselves, when was the last time we called them? Do they have a beef with us for some reason?

I am very fortunate that over the years my only son and I have had our differences but we have always been close enough to come to terms with whatever we dissagreed upon.

If my son didn't have time because of his family, job and child to come to me, then as a parent, I always tried to either make contact with them or call and find when a convenient time would be so I could go see them.

Mothers day is sometimes difficult, especially if our mom has passed away.

Thankfully this year we still have our mother, but our dad passed away last November.

Therefore, Fathers Day will be a more bit difficult this year as we miss him very much.

Some of us just try to count our blessings and get over our dissappointments in life. I am not chastising Ms Perkins at all for feeling the way she does.

My only hope for her is that her children will realize how important it is to recognize besides their inlaws they also have a mom and dad that loves them very much.

s/Pamela Farr
