Band is hoping for $1,000 when Bluebird Box Drive ends Monday

By Beth VanArsdale, Band Parent

The deadline for the Adair County Band Bluebird Box fund drive is approaching. Monday, May 11, 2009, this program will come to an end at the Band Boosters meeting.

We're hoping to add $1,000.00 to the total when all the checks are counted.

Alan VanArsdale owner of Dixie Cash & Carry Building Supply presented a Macy's Blue Bird Box Fund Raiser for the Band students.

Dixie gave each band student a blue bird box to sell at an April 17, 2009 meetng.

The students were free to decorate their blue bird boxes if they wished and sell one blue bird box.

Alan thought it would be a fun project plus it would help raise money for the Macys trip. We wanted to make the public aware that if they wish to buy a blue bird box get in touch with a band students.

BIG STEP TOWARD $1,000 BLUE BIRD HOUSE GOAL: "Connie Stotts of Stotts Construction wins everybody's heart in so many ways. She did it again, in a big way, with Heather VanArsdale, second year trumpet player in the Adair Co Marching Band," writes Beth Van Arsdale. "Heather took bids on her Macy's trip fundraiser Blue Bird Box from a number of folks. The winning bid was from Connie Stotts at Stotts Construction of $80. When Heather received the check from Connie, it was actually for $100! Heather sends a big 'Thank you' to Stotts Construction for their donation on her blue bird box. The Bluebird House fundraiser ends on Monday, May 11, 2009, and the money is counted. Hopefully we will raise $1000 for the Macy's trip, if not more.
