Injury accident on Russell Road due to hydroplaning Columbia Police Department, Fire Department at scene Clicking on headline accesses full story, photo(s) By Mark D. Harris, Chief, Columbia Police Department The Columbia Police Department Investigated an injury accident at 1:07pmCT, Wednesday afternoon, May 6, 2009 in front of the Columbia Bros. Distributing Building at 1154 Russell RD in the Limits of Columbia, KY. The accident occurred when a 2005 Ford Focus being operated by Preston Gilbert, age 25, of Glensfork, KY, hydroplaned and crossed the roadway and landed in a culvert. A passenger 49 year old Betty Gilbert was transported to Westlake Cumberland Regional Hospital by Adair County EMS. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts. The accident was investigated by Officer Tracy McCarol and assisted by Officer Kevin Atwood. The Columbia Fire Department also responded to the scene. This story was posted on 2009-05-06 16:11:08
