Two vehicle crash near Springfield, KY, takes two lives

WASHINGTON CO., KY - A Two vehicle fatal collision occurred at 6:30pmET, on Saturday, April 25, 2009 on US 150, six miles west of Springfield, KY.

A 1992 Chevrolet operated by Cortney Jones, age 19, Bardstown, KY, was traveling westbound when she veered into the eastbound lane of US 150 and struck a 1992 Mazda which was operated by Barbara Walker, age 72, of Harrodsburg, KY.



Ms. Walker was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Washington County Coroner. Ms. Jones was transported to Flaget Hospital in Bardstown, KY, for injuries sustained in the collision.

A passenger in the Jones vehicle, Kayla Ruley, age 14, of Lebanon, KY was airlifted to Kosair Childrens Hospital in Louisville for injuries sustained in the collision.

A passenger in the Walker vehicle, Martin Walker III, age 72, of Harrodsburg, KY, was airlifted to University of Louisville Hospital where he was later pronounced deceased by the Jefferson County Coroners Office for injuries sustained in the collision.
