Doyle Lloyd, the Band's President, was elated with the community response to the project, and was very pleased with the restaurant for their help. ""A big thank you to Betty Ollestad and all her staff for letting the Band Dad's wait tables tonight. It was a great night for the Macy's fund because it grew another $1,056.00," he said.

"We're going to make it," he said. "We're going to make it this way. One step at a time. A little here, a little there. From gifts and from our own work. Like tonight."

The band has several more projects planned between now and the Thanksgiving Day event. People are walking up to Lloyd on the street with ideas for raising funds. One big one coming up is the brainchild of Adair Progress Assistant Editor Lawrence Harris. It's called "Bikers for Band Poker Run," which will be helps ACHS band "ride toward Macy's." It starts ill start with a sign-up from 10:00am to 12:00pmCT, Saturday, May 9, 2009, at Rex's Cycle Shop, 1349 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY.

BAND DAD JOHN TUPMAN is one of the wait staff at Betty's OK Country Cooking, 2339 Campbellsville Road, Columbia, KY, tonight, making the place look like home as he waits on sister, Mary Lloyd, father Jimmy Tupman, and niece Anna Lloyd, the band's biggest little booster. The restaurant has been full, but the ktichen and the staff are fully able to give the same excellent food and attentive service for which the restaurant is famous.
