Obituary: Joe Landon Kimbler, 72, Columbia, KY

Mr. Kimbler was a member of a respected Adair County family and was the patriarch of a large family, who leaves 43 living descendants

Joe Landon Kimbler, 72, Columbia, KY, died Wedesday, Aprill 22, 2009, at 4:33pmCT at Westlake Regional Hospital, Columbia, KY.

The funeral service is Sunday, April 26, 2009, at 1:00pmCT, at Grissom-Martin Funeral Home, 200 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, with Bro. Ronnie Janes the officiating clergy. Burial will be in Freedom Cemetery. Visitation is after 4:30pmCT, Saturday, April 25, 2009, at the funeral home.



He was a son of the late Lucian and Mary Medaris Kimbler and was also preceded in detah by three brothers, George, Robert, and Tommy Kimbler.

He is survived by the following:
  • Five sons: Earl Kimbler, Columbia, KY; and Billy, Ricky, Jeff, and Donnie Kimbler, Russell Springs, KY

  • Five daughters: Sheila Murphy, Columbia, KY; Joyce Kimbler, Jamestown, KY; Sharon Kimbler, Greensburg, KY; and Judy Shanahan and Linda York, both of Russell Springs, KY

  • Two brothers: James Kimbler, Cane Valley, KY; and Otha Kimbler, California

  • Three sisters: Aline Kelsay, Columbia, KY; Virginia Coffey, Portland, KY; and Betty Sewell, Cox's Creek, KY

  • And 14 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren
