Obituary: Dorothy Riley, formerly of Burkesville, KY

Mrs. Riley was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith

Dorothy Riley, 84, Corydon, IN, formerly of Burkesville, KY passed away on Friday, April 17, 2009 at the Indian Creek Nursing Home in Corydon.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 20, 2009 at 1:00pmCT at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, 304 N. Main ST, Burkesville, KY with burial in the Bow Schoolhouse Cemetery. Visitation is after 2:00pmCT Sunday, April 19, 2009, at Ballou & Stotts Funeral Home, Burkesville, KY


She was a daughter of the late Hobert and Mattie Coop Branham, a homemaker, and of the Baptist faith.

Survivors Include the following:
  • Four sons: Norman Riley and his wife Joyce, Genoa City, WI; James Riley and his wife Dolly, Columbia, KY; ,Paul Riley, Corydon, IN; and Richard Riley and his friend Kay Ballard, New Albany, IN

  • Three daughters: Peggy Riley and her companion Eddie Sherman of Corydon, IN; Mary Lawson and her husband Gary, Summer Shade, KY, and Bonnie Proffitt and her husband Jim, Shepherdsville, KY

  • Two sisters- Betty Wright, Burkesville, KY, and Francis Birge of Temple Hill, KY

  • Nine grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren
