Spectacular performance expected by Ceruti Chamber Players Event tomorrow night, Tuesday, April 14, 2009, is free and open to public By Duane Bonifer COLUMBIA, Ky. Area residents will have an opportunity to hear a spectacular performance Tuesday night at Lindsey Wilson College. The Ceruti Chamber Players will perform at 7:00pmCT on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Lindsey Wilson W.W. Slider Humanities Center Recital Hall, located two doors down, just to the right of the L.R. MacDonald Administration Building, 210 Lindsey ST, Columbia, KY. The concert is part of the colleges 2008-09 Cultural Affairs Series and is free and open to the public. The Ceruti Chamber Players will perform music by Philippe Gaubert, Carl Neilson, Madeline Dring and Claude Bolling. They will perform on flute, oboe, piano, and double base. It should be a spectacular performance, said Cultural Affairs Committee Chair Phil Hanna. This year marks the 23rd season of the Louisville, KY,-based Ceruti Chamber Players. They were one of one of two U.S. ensembles selected to participate in the First Osaka (Japan) International Chamber Music Festa. The critically acclaimed Ceruti Chamber Players have performed at the Master Musicians Festival in Somerset, KY; Musikfest Bethlehem in Pennsylvania; Piccolo Spoleto Festival in Charleston, SC; the Indiana State University Contemporary Music Festival; the 2006 International Double Reed Society conference; and The Louisville Orchestras New Dimensions Series. The ensembles performances have included many Louisville premieres of contemporary music as well as the world premiere of Frederick Specks Postcards for Ilse. Following the ensembles Louisville premiere of James Chaudoirs Quartet for Violin, Clarinet, Cello, and Piano, the Ceruti Chamber Players recorded the work for Capstone Records. The recording is available on the compact disc On the Beach at Night. Their performances have aired on Kentucky Educational Television, the former Louisville in Concert series on WFPK-FM, the University of Louisville Concert Hour on WUOL-FM, and Lunchtime Classics on WUOL-FM. In 2001 the ensemble inaugurated its annual Sommermusik series. The Ceruti Chamber Players will perform at 7:00pmCT on Tuesday, April 14, 2009 at the Lindsey Wilson W.W.
