Two die, five injured as result of 3-vehicle Dunnville, KY crash

Kentucky State Police, Casey County Sheriff's Department, Casey County Fire/Rescue, Casey County Highway Department, and Casey County EMS all on the scene, approximately 24 miles from Columbia, KY

DUNNVILLE, KY - A three vehicle collision in the Dunnville area of Casey County on US127 resulted in the deaths of the two drivers, and injuries to five others, one of whom was airlifted to UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY.

The tragedy occurred today, Saturday, April 11, 2009, at approximately 12:35pmCT.

A 2001 Chevy, operated by Francisco Javier Marcial, age 21, of Dunnville, KY, was traveling southbound on US127.



Marcial's vehicle struck a 1998 Dodge pickup, operated by Jeffrey Stafford, age 34, of Russell Springs, KY, which had stopped in traffic.

After striking the Stafford vehicle, the Marcial vehicle crossed the center line and struck a 2006 Toyota, operated by Hannah Young, age 17, of Springfield, OH, head on.

Young was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. Passengers in the Young vehicle, Edith Young, age 51, Adam Burns, age 17, and Keenan Young, age 13, all of Springfield, OH were transported to the Russell County Hospital in Russell Springs, KY, and were treated and released.

Stafford was transported to the Russell County Hospital where he was treated and released.

Marcial was transported to the Russell County Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

A female passenger in the Marcial vehicle, Monica Zuniqa, age 13, was airlifted to the UK Medical Center in Lexington and is listed in critical condition.

All occupants were belted at the time of the collision. KSP was assisted at the scene by the Casey County Sheriff's Department, Casey County Fire/Rescue, Casey County Highway Department, and Casey County EMS.

The collision is being investigated by Sgt. Jamie Heller of Kentucky State Police Post 15, Columbia, KY.
