City will have dumpsters at fairgrounds April 16, 17, 2009

CITY PRIDE Clean-up Day is Saturday, April 18, 2009. Not for profit organizations can earn up to $100 per group; details below

The City of Columbia in conjunction with PRIDE spring cleanup will have dumpsters set up for free trash and metal disposal during the days of April 16 and 17, 2009, in adddition to to the cleanup on April 18, 2009.

Everyone wishing to participate in the Saturday, April 18, 2009 cleanup should meet at City Hall, 116 Campbellsville ST, Columbia, KY, at 8:30amCT. Not for profit organizations can earn $50 per team of 5 with a maximum of $100 per group.



This project will provide our community with the opportunity to collect and dispose of all unwanted trash, metal items and old appliances at no charge.

Separate dumpsters will be available for metal recycling only, which will be recycled. The dumpsters will be set up at the Adair County Fairgrounds, Fairgrounds Street, Columbia, KY on Thursday, April 16 and Friday, April 17, 2009. Unaccepted items include:
  • No sealed containers, paint cans, or buckets with anything inside
  • No tanks (acetylene, oxygen, propane or anything sealed)
  • No steel cables
  • No capacitators
  • No fence that has the post still attached
  • No hazardous material
  • No light fixtures or ballast
  • No televisions
  • No microwaves
