I am in the beginning stages of gathering interest from the college and the community about turning part of the courthouse into a campus coffee shop.

I would love to see a permanent, relaxing, professional coffee shop in our community.

I forsee a place where students relax and study, where locals gather to exchange opinions, where local art is displayed on a rotation, where music can be performed, and where domestic and exotic coffee and tea can be sampled with comfort foods and possibly a light lunch menu.

Perhaps it could be part of a larger campus bookstore.

Ernest Hemingway speaks of these type place often in his work, mostly in Paris, and what an impact the atmosphere had on his life. I have discovered the same feeling when I visit these type places and my wife and I now travel every weekend to find these ecclectic haunts.
