Eight runs in 9th by Mid-Continent overtakes LW lead

Blue Raiders held lead for eight innings Tuesday at Raider Field

COLUMBIA, KY - The Lindsey Wilson College baseball team allowed eight runs in the ninth inning and lost to Mid-Continent (KY) University 11-6 Tuesday, March 31, at Raider Field.

Lindsey Wilson (9-13) led 6-3 headed into the ninth before committing three errors which led to six unearned runs. Luis Parra (3-2) was charged with the loss after walking two and allowing three hits in the ninth without recording an out.



Mid-Continent (10-27) took the lead in the ninth on a two run single by Tanner Hall. Hall (2-8) also picked up the win throwing three innings of shutout baseball in relief.

The Blue Raiders took the lead early scoring five runs in the fourth inning. Senior Daniel Eck laced a two run double and after a walk freshman David Murphy connected on a three-run homerun to left center.

Lindsey Wilson Baseball returns to action at Noon CT/1:00pmET on Friday, April 3, 2009, as the Blue Raiders travel to St. Catharine College, Springfield, KY for a doubleheader.
