The Adair County Jaycees' annual Easter Egg Hunt will take place Saturday, April 11, 2009, at 11:00amCT, at the Adair County Fairgounds, Fairgrounds ST near the Young ST intersection, Columbia, KY.

As always, the Giant Easter Bunny will be at the Fairgrounds to the delight of children of all ages. The Big Rabbit always makes it to Columbia for the Jaycees Egg Hunt, even when if it is snowing, as it did on April 7, 2007, when an April snow kept people wrapped up, but didn't diminish the turn out one bit.

The event just keeps getting bigger and bigger, like Harvey, Jimmy Stewart's rabbit. There will be free cotton candy, soft drinks, and hot dogs while supplies last.

Every child will get a prize

"Every child will get a prize," Greg Thomas, one of the organizers said. "No child will have to go home empty-handed."

The hunt wil be divided into four age groups:
  • 1 to 3 year olds
  • 4 to 6 year olds
  • 7 to 9 year olds
  • 10-11 year olds
Grand prizes will be awarded at the end of the hunt. Rules will be explained on day of Easter Egg Hunt. The organizers of the event, which has grown over the years, are still accepting donations of items and money to go toward making the Easter Egg Hunt bigger and better, should contact Greg Thomas at Thomas Photography, 502 Burkesville ST, Columbia, KY at (270) 378-1885 or see Charles Grimsley (270) 384-5658 at Grimsley's Jewelry, 102 Public Square, Columbia, KY.
