Buzz Cason to autograph his book, speak at CU  Buzz Cason, a newly-appointed Campbellsville University trustee will be on the campus of Campbellsville University for two events on Tuesday, Apriil 7, 2009 By Joan C. McKinney, CU news and publications coordinator Buzz Cason, a newly-appointed Campbellsville University trustee who is a well-known Nashville author, songwriter, publisher and creative writer's group director, will autograph his book, "Living the Rock 'n Roll Dream: The Adventures of Buzz Cason," from 3:30pm to 5:30pmET Tuesday, April 7, 2009, at the Campbellsville University Barnes & Noble Campus Bookstore. The bookstore is located in the Davenport Student Commons at 410 N. Hoskins AV., Campbellsville, KY in the E. Bruce Heilman Student Complex. He will present a program about his life and experience in the music industry later at 8:00pmET in The Gheens Recital Hall, located in the Gosser Fine Arts Center at 210 University Drive, Campbellsville, KY. Both events are free and open to the public. With the distinction of being the only known songwriter to have songs recorded by the Beatles, U2, Pearl Jam, Gloria Estefan and Jimmy Buffett, Cason has enjoyed long lasting success. His song "Everlasting Love," co-written with Mac Gayden, has received over 7 million radio airplays "Soldier Of Love," the title cut of the Derailers '06 CD, was also recorded by the Beatles, Pearl Jam and Marshall Crenshaw. It was originally written with Tony Moon for Arthur Alexander. He co-wrote Martina McBride's "Love's The Only House" with Tom Douglas. Cason's Palo Duro Records debut, His "Hats Off To Hank," released in spring of '08, charted in the top 20 in the Americana Music chart and can be heard on over 70 U.S. radio stations as well as XM and Sirius Satellite stations. His '09 release is "Busload Of Love" and contains 17 new songs. He is now touring as a soloist as well as with his band The Love Notes. Appearances include South By Southwest in Austin, Larry Joe Taylor's Texas Music Festival Tommy Alverson's Family and Friends Fest, Michael Hearne's Barndance Weekend, the Chattahippie Music Festival, the Rock 'n' Roll Hall Of Fame, The Country Music Hall Of Fame and various club venues around the country. An original member of the pioneer rock band, the Casuals, Cason was also was a member of The Crickets and Ronny and the Daytonas in the 1960s. The Hollywood Bowl, Royal Albert Hall (London) and the Budokun (Tokyo) are among the venues in which he has performed. Cason works out of Berry Hill, TN, home of his Creative Workshop Studio and continues to write and produce for and with various artists. He is host of buzzinamerica.com which features live music and interviews of multiple genres.
