Meeting Friday for growers selling at 2009 AC Farmers Market

Time to think about a garden for profit

A planning meeting for the 2009 Adair County Farmer's Market at will start at 10:00 am Friday, March 27, 2009, at the Adair County Cooperative Extension Service, 409 Fairgrounds ST, Columbia, KY.

The meeting with discussion on the upcoming marketing season. Anyone interested in marketing produce through the Adair County Farmer's Market this year should attend.

Beginning at 1:00pmCT, the GAP Training (Good Agricultural Practices) will be held. This training is mandatory for vendors wishing to accept senior vouchers at the Adair County Farmer's Market.

If you are interested in participating in this program, please contact the Adair County Extension Office at (270) 384-2317. Nick Roy, Adair County Extension Agent for Agriculture & Natural Resources, 409 Fairgounds Street, Columbia, KY. The office hours are are as follows: Monday through Friday: Mornings: 8:00amCT to 12:00pm Noon CT. Closed for one hour 12:00pm-1:00pm. Afternoons: 1:00pmCT to 4:00pmCT. Closed Saturday and Sunday.
